Methods of research in libraries - an analysis of methods used for research in the Czech republic and abroad too

This thesis concerns methods of research, user's satisfaction and methods and tools for measuring quality and performance in the libraries of the Czech Republic and the Nordic countries, especially the library institutions of Norway, Sweden and Finland. The theoretical part focuses on the basic concepts related to research in general. Furthermore, the thesis clarifies specific tools and methods for measuring the quality and performance in an environment of the Czech and Nordic libraries and it also comments on the research methods of the user's satisfaction in the libraries of the Czech Republic. The practical part is composed of an exploration in the Czech libraries by using different kinds of research methods.

: The bachelor thesis deals with the quality of services provided by the library of the Central Bohemian Research in Kladno based on the knowledge gained from a questionnaire survey. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is devoted to the status and role of the Central Bohemian Research Library both in the positive and in the Central Region. It refers to the long tradition of this institution (the library was founded 1897) and its irreplaceable role in the city itself Kladno, where in addition to Central Bohemian Research Library offers its services since 2003 also Kladno City Library. It discussed the role of the library as an informational, cultural and educational center which provides its services equally to all without distinction. The work is based on the organizational structure of the library represents individual sites and services they provide. It deals with the structure of the library collection. It discusses the role of libraries in the Central Region, where the latter acts as the central library of the region, methodical and counseling centers and libraries in collaboration with designated libraries ensures implementation of the regional functions.
